Forever on the Throne!! 🙂

I used to be really scared of what people would think of me and I was a very shy person and still am a little bit, but I used to try to be perfect for other people and most of all try to be perfect for God.  I used to think that this is what makes a “godly” whole human.  Until God really lifted a weight off my shoulders.  And that weight was myself.  I now let myself be much more open and engage in what life throws my way, knowing that just being me and wearing my crown that my Savior Jesus Christ placed on my head is enough.

Do not let your peers compare you to other people’s successful lives and make you think that you too have to do exactly what they are doing just to be happy.  Don’t think, “oh hey, if they are happy and successful because they chose that path, then I should do the same.”  No!! Their success story is not the same as yours.

I am happy for the people when they reach their lifetime goal or when they achieve something they have been working on their whole life because that is what God planned for them.  That is their story.  And I know that all I need and ever want to do is dance on the path the God has for me!!  God will put you in your happiest place.  Keep doing you and keep dreaming!! 🙂 Laugh, run, skip, jump, and free fall into what you know best!!  If it brings you joy then in the most efficient and healthy way, that is all you need.  You don’t need perfection or fall into someone else’s footsteps to be happy.  I want to be a ballerina that inspires others to do what they love.  Just take in Jesus, family, good health and all the laughter and smiles you can get!  To me life is all about experience and I want to take it all in, as much as I can.  I love going on a hike with my daddy and taking in the crisp Colorado air that God breaths too.  I love laughing non-stop with my mommy and playing cards with family.  Even the smallest things in life make you who you are!

I  live a much more free life, knowing that I am filling it with strength and lots of dancing and this makes me happy.  I get to run around in pointe shoes all day and who wouldn’t want to do that!!  Sure it is hard at times and I have put myself through pain at times, danced when I was sick, and have had a surgery on my left ankle but nothing scares me knowing that I have God on my side.  I mean, what else have we got to loose after all; God gifted us with the best reward in the end: freedom and eternity in His kingdom forever.  And hearing that makes me scared of nothing!!:)  That is magic right there and that is all I need!!  Knowing that I can run, leap, and soar without falling and that I am forever in His arms is the most fearless feeling ever….and I want to be fearless!! How could anyone be scared if you have that feeling!!

Forever is a feeling and forever is God!! 🙂

Scripture is like a lion.  Who ever heard of defending a lion?  Just turn it loose and it will defend itself!

~Charles Spurgeon

You must let your self take in all that the world has to offer before you pick and choose what you want and have hope in God that everything that is meant to be will be and everything that is not will be overcome by the light that was already within you!

I want to share with you something that is so special to me, an artist who is very special to me!  Charles Spurgeon is his name and you can read some of his work  a little bit more about who he was and what he did:

I absolutely love this quote pictured above and I have put a few other words above the picture about lions quoted by Charles Spurgeon as well!

Feel  free to read in to as much as possible and don’t forget to be open to as much information and scripture as you can get your hands on!! It is good for the mind soul and body to take time to rest and read!!;) 🙂

Today I am going to be sharing with you all some of my necessities I use for ballet/pointe!  Also, you can follow along with some of my tips and tricks.  If some of you are not dancers, still feel free to read and see what a day in the life a dancer’s  feet is really like!

I wear my pointe shoes about every day for at least 3 hours.  I am training at a local ballet school at the moment.  I wear Gaynor Mindens.  For those who might not know what these are; Gaynor’s are a newer type of pointe shoe that are made entirely out of plastic and foam, rather than the traditional pointe shoe.  Typically, most pointe shoes are made out of a paper mache, but Gaynor Mindens kind of changed that idea so that the shoe itself could last longer!  I do like them a lot, especially since Gaynor Minden has helped me create the my perfect shoe!!  I absolutely love that the shoe itself is quiet and most of all lasts a whole lot longer.  And they are so pretty, each time I sew a new pair of pointe shoes I feel like a princess!!  I feel like most ballerinas spend there whole career looking for the perfect shoe, almost like princesses in the fairy-tales!  The picture above is me wearing my Gaynor Mindens.  I really do like how they immediately shape to my foot and I can warm-up/roll through my feet nicely at barre while wearing them!  I have also tried Freed’s by Freed of London.  I loved the shape of the shoes, but they died after a day of rehearsals and I have not had the time to find another shoe just yet.  So, I am sticking with Gaynor’s forever and always!! Let me know what shoes you might wear and what your thoughts are!

I will show you a bit of what I wear on my toes!

Here are all the bandages and necessities I use. In the red pouch I have my Despicable Me, Minion Band-Aid and athletic tape! ;) I also use toe pads, which just give my toes an extra padding in the pointe shoe. Then, I have toe spacers, which I make myself using; padded foam moleskin, you can get this at Walgreens. Toe spacers are basically like adding another toe in between your big and second toe! Lastly, I use toe caps. These are great if you get splits on your big toe, like me!

I have found that warming my feet up specifically before class always helps and it is a lot healthier for your body, even if it is simple!  It’s the little things that lead to great things!  I have a set routine that I do everyday before class:

20 rises onto demi-pointe

10 reps of windshield wipers with a thera-band

20 reps of pointing and flexing my feet with a thera-band

25 reps of caterpillars (for the arches)

Foot stretch

Achilles tendon stretch on half of foam log

Here is a video for a better look, I have listed everything above in order of the video:

Hello everyone!  Today was a pretty great day, but I would like to share with you a little snippet from yesterday, Sunday.  So Sunday is always a nice day, and this Sunday was very special to me.  I woke up in the morning to go to church with my grandparents and my mother.  I always love spending time with my grandparents, because I did not get to see them very much until they moved out here closer to us.  Tomorrow, Tuesday, they will be leaving for Florida.  Since the weather is getting colder, they like to be in warmer climate, but just until it warms up.  Back to what happened on Sunday.  We arrived at church and started singing, all of a sudden the lights went out when we sung the word, darkness.  This was rather strange, but we soon found out that all the power went out due to a fire close by.  Even without lights, we kept singing!  This made me think,  no matter what, you are still able to see light in darkness!  This goes for us in the real world, as well.  No matter the chaos the world may bring, your flame will never burn out!  I wanted to share a quote my grandma gave me on a little sheet of paper before she left:

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that’s why they call it the present.”

~Eleanor Roosevelt

No matter where you are in life, you should never look back and never worry about tomorrow!  Life is always best when you live in the moment.  Life is about moments.  Do not let your flame burn out because of what happened in the past or because you are worried about the future!  Just burn bright in the moments you are given!
